Grobet checkering files are
parallel in width and gently
tapered in thickness.
HAND checkering files are a little
wider than PILLAR checkering files.
Available in cuts that will produce
20 Lines Per Inch thru 75 Lines Per
Inch.
DO NOT use these files
on chrome, nickel plated material,
or on hardened surfaces. Those
materials will ruin the file teeth.
Checkering files are
measured in length from where
the teeth begin to the end of the
file. The tang is not a part of the
file length.
Useful for putting serrations on
knife edges, plier jaws, or
to obtain a checkered design
on a gun hand grip. Double cut
top and bottom. Both edges are
safe (no teeth).
Use a 3-Square Bent Riffler
File for pointing up new checkering
# 31897 (medium), or # 31896
(coarse) for cleaning out old
checkering.
