SET-UP, OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS FOR GROBET 22715 WAX INJECTOR

TEMPERATURE CONTROL

The temperature control dial is calibrated from 0 to 500. This calibration is only a guide in setting the control. The numbers do not designate degrees of temperature.

Turning the control clockwise from “0” turns machine “ON” and lights the indicator lamp.

The unit is controlled by a thermostat and will switch itself “ON” and “OFF”, according to this setting.

PREPARING THE POT

The best wax impressions are made by heating the wax according to the manufacturer’s suggested temperature. The heat range should be slightly above the desired temperature when hot, and slightly below when cool.

For the desired temperature, fill the pot with wax and turn the control clockwise. This will begin the process. Immerse your thermometer when the wax is liquid, then turn the control clockwise to the next calibration. Read the thermometer when the indicator lamp goes “ON”.

If wax is too thick, it is an indication that more heat is required. Repeat procedure until the setting is correct.

OPERATION

Connect the power cord to any fused 115 Volt AC electrical outlet. Turn pot “ON”, add wax and bring to operating temperature. Raise piston slightly and release. It will drop under its own weight and indicate that the ejector nozzle is clear, by ejecting a small stream of liquid wax.

PREPARE THE MOLD

Hold mold upright with nozzle in sprue and operate piston with the other hand. When cool, open mold to examine the wax impression. If the mold is not filled in, the reason may be one of the following:

Wax too cool; obstruction in the mold
Insufficient pressure exerted on the piston of the pump

A little practice, will give you the correct feel of the piston for injection.

PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE

DO NOT use pot with little or no wax. It should be at least half-full at all times.
DO NOT leave pot “ON” overnight. Disconnect at day’s end.
DO NOT play with control knob to prevent breakage of the temperature control unit.
DO NOT use dirty wax.

When clogged, hold a drinking cup over nozzle, raising and lowering the piston with a little force to clear the pump.
