Burno melting crucibles have a protective heat-holding cover that makes them efficient for melting metal with a torch. An excellent choice for melting bench sweeps, and fines of gold, silver or bronze.

These crucibles are made of fused silica with a clay bond.

When melting powdered metal, preheat the empty crucible to get it very hot. Add a little metal powder and gently bring the torch flame to the crucible. This should help to keep the powder from blowing out of the crucible.

For longest crucible life clean after each melt and remove excess dross

You should be able to get several melts out of these high quality crucibles
