CABLE TEMPLE CONVERSIONS

Convert straight wire cable temples to wrap-around temples with these high quality silicone cable temple conversion assemblies. The 1.4mm (.055") core diameter fits a broad range of frames. See enlarged picture for dimensions.

Installation procedure:

Line up the existing temple bend with the bend in the cable end. Mark the existing temple where cable converter starts.

Cut your existing temple 12mm back from your mark, then strip off the old temple cover.

Warm up the exposed metal with a hot air frame warmer and install the cable ends. Heat at 180° - 200° for 2-3 minutes to fully activate the resin inside the converter. Cool at room temperature or in cold water.

Note: Hairdryers won’t usually work. They typically generate less than 140° of heat, the temperature that skin begins to burn. Some opticians have reported success dipping the mounted converters into 212° boiling water to activate the resin.
