How to Change the Motor Brushes on Your Grobet Flex Shaft

Grobet Flex Shaft Motor Brushes usually last around 500 hours or so. If your motor demonstrates a loss of power or torque, check the brushes.

New motor brushes are 3/4" in length. Remove and replace the brushes when they wear down to 1/4". Always replace both brushes.

Unplug the unit before performing any maintenance on your flex shaft.

Place the motor on a clean, flat surface.

The motor brushes are located behind the black 1/2"-diameter caps located on either side of the motor.

Use a flat blade screwdriver to unscrew the black caps, releasing the motor brush springs.

Insert the carbon end of the new motor brush into the motor. Press the spring in place and cover with the black cap. Screw the cap back on to hold the brush in place.
