The Grobet 2N Bunsen Burner is the only unit we sell that is set up to use with pressurized propane gas, such as is found in the disposable propane tanks.

The rest of the Bunsen Burners are for use with low pressure natural gas. They will yield an 800 to 1200 BTU thermal output.

Normal combustion produces carbon dioxide; incomplete combustion can produce carbon monoxide. Always use Bunsen Burners with adequate ventilation.

Natural gas is a low-pressure gas (1.6psi)

Propane is a high-pressure gas (90psi)

In other words, if you connect your BBQ's propane cylinder to a natural gas Bunsen Burner system you could wind up with a 9-foot flame that will burn a hole in your kitchen ceiling or patio roof. Everything could literally go up in flames as the higher-pressure gas is ignited.

Bummer.

Gum rubber tubing is only designed for use with low-pressure natural gas. DO NOT use gum rubber tubing with any high-pressure gas, but instead always use a good, high-quality reinforced hose.

Periodically check your gum rubber tubing or reinforced rubber hose and connections for leaks. Leaking gas can easily ignite when it comes in contact with a spark or an open flame.

If your hose is burning, bubbling or melting while using your Bunsen Burner DISCONTINUE USE IMMEDIATELY.

The base of the Bunsen Burners are normally room-temperature while the units are being used. If your unit is getting hot enough to melt the hose, something is very wrong. It may need to be cleaned, or replaced.

Bunsen burners can be extremely dangerous.
