Muslin or cotton buffs? That is the question!
Muslin buffs are generally used to begin the buffing and polishing process for many materials. Tripoli is a good polishing compound to begin with.
Grobet Cotton Super Buffs are made of 100% cotton. A patented process removes impurities making the cloth finer and nearly lint-free.
Super Buffs last up to 50% longer, with minimal fraying and better compound retention, achieving a smooth, uniform finish with superior coloring.
Do not mix polishing compounds on your wheels, or allow charged wheels to come in contact with each other. You may contaminate the wheel with a coarser grit and sabotage your finishing operation.
20 ply = 1/4" thick
40 ply = 1/2" thick

For high finishes we recommend the use of a cotton buff and a fine polishing compound.
