Our good friend Charles Hand up in Canada has a suggestion for preventing blade slippage. First and foremost, do not over-tighten the knob. Snug is enough, especially for those of you with a hearty-handshake.
Over-tightening is counter-productive causing the screw threads to deform or wear prematurely. It may also cause the gap in the blade clamp to spread, especially if you are not using the solid aluminum Pegas clamp. The OEM heads on most machines are made of a cast aluminum material that is not as strong as the Pegas heads.
Lightly sanding the head of the swivel with 100 grit sandpaper helps create a little extra friction. Some scrollers like to sand the ends of the blades instead.
