There is a screw & nut on the left side for arm adjustment. If it is too tight from the factory, then loosen a bit to raise the arm. Sometimes the factory overtightens this, thus the arm will be hard to lift up. This screw and nut are the main adjustment for the upper arm. "Slightly tightened" holds it in place when lifted.
