40% lighter than the OEM head, reducing the stress on the bearings
Made of solid 7075 aircraft grade aluminum. Won't bend during tension adjustment like the cast OEM heads do, making proper tension adjustment difficult.
Increases life of the scroll saws
You will need the following tools for assembly: a 3mm hex key, a 7mm open-end wrench, and a 10mm open-end wrench. These tools are not included in the kit.
Everything else you need to repair or upgrade your scroll saw is included: 4 bearings, 2 thumb screws, 2 set screws, and two hex nuts.
To remove the old head remove the two set screws and hex nuts. The head has two bearings in the arms. Carefully slide the head off. Remove the old bearings, and replace with the new bearings that come with the kit. Replace the new Pegas head, and insert the screws. Be careful not to over-tighten the screws and nuts…a snug-fit is plenty good.
